Pitaya Purpusii

The cultivar «Purpussi» is interesting not for the fruit itself, but for the pollination capacity that it has over the rest of the cultivars. Its cladodes are thick with characteristic white spots. They normally grow in a spiral and have spines on the areolas. It is a cultivar that grows continuously, but not very fast. It has an average size of 400g, with rough skin and short bracts. It's flavour is not very sweet, so it is recommended for juices with other fruits or to have some sugar added. It's flowering period is from June to September.
